Kajol pens an emotional note to ‘Queen’ Tanuja on her 79th birthday; says, “You will always be my captain” 79 : Bollywood News

Kajol is one of those Bollywood actresses who keep posting on social media to give a peek into her professional and personal life. On the other hand, the actress also uses social media to display her affection toward her family members. As September 23, 2022, marks the 79th birth anniversary of her actress mother Tanuja Mukherjee, Kajol shared a special video for the former along with a heartfelt caption.

Interestingly, the video features a few short clips of Tanuja while ‘Raat Akeli Hai Bujh Gaye Die’ is playing in the background. In the caption, Kajol penned, “She’s completed 70 odd years in the movies and 48 as my mother .. through this entire journey never once did I feel anything but safe and loved.. so many trials and yet she discussed everything that makes a life worth living with us.”

The Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham actress further added, “From death to compassion to charity to anger bitterness love and forgiveness. Like she says “ if I keep telling u these things then one day they will take root when u need them most “… and I thank u everyday for making me a thinking responsible feeling adult.. u taught us to soar not by throwing us off the cliff but by flying off it yourself and letting us watch u soar unafraid.”

Concluding the note to her mother, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress wrote, “I will always be ur first lieutenant and commander of ur armies and you will always be my captain and my queen.. love u to the moon and back mom.” Meanwhile, at the end of the video, the screen read ‘Happy Birthday Mom’.

Tanuja Mukherjee was one of the iconic actresses of her era. She started her acting career as a child artist with the 1950’s release, Hamari Beti. Later, at the age of 16, she made her debut on the big screen. She married filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee and has two daughters Kajol and Tanishaa.
