Kabir Khan’s next, ’83, is one of the most anticipated films of 2020 and was expected to release on April 10, but due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the film’s new release date is yet undecided. This multi-starrer film is based on the first Cricket World Cup won by India in 1983, with Kapil Dev as the Indian cricket team’s captain. After months of training and shooting across the world’s best stadiums, the film’s climax was shot at Lord’s stadium in London.
Kabir Khan reveals why Clive Llyod refused to watch Ranveer Singh shoot for the climax of ‘83In a candid conversation with Boman Irani on Instagram live, Kabir Khan revealed that the then captain of West Indies, Clive Lloyd was present during the climax shot. Clive’s son plays his role in the film and when Kabir Khan asked him to witness the shot from a little closer, he refused. He said, “You want me to see that cup going away for the second time and that too from near?”
The director and Boman Irani had a good laugh about his on-point humourous comment.
