Kaal director Soham Shah opens up about adapting his debut novel Blood Moon; says, “I am keeping it open for either a web show or a movie” : Bollywood News

Soham Shah, director of films like Kaal and Luck has added another feather to his cap by becoming an author. Soham has penned down his first novel called Blood Moon and is ecstatic at the response he has been receiving, wherein he also elaborated on his plan about adapting the book himself. Although he is dabbling between the idea of converting it into a film or a web-series, the filmmaker turned author asserted that he has already kicked off work on the production of the same.

In a recent interaction, Soham P Shah discussed about the future plans he has in store for Blood Moon and shared, “I am keeping it open for both formats. Either a web show or a movie. Whichever gives me the production values that justify the story, I will finalise that. I am in the process of gathering the production soon.” He also showcased his desire to be personally involved in the process of bringing the book on celluloid. “I am keen on directing myself. Unless someone may reach out to me wanting to make their own adaptation. It would be interesting to know the vision of another director too, how he or she may approach it,” he added. He was also quick to point out how the horror genre remains to be one of the rarely explored genres, especially in current times. He stated, “For a long time, we haven't had a paranormal thriller. This story and genre are very relatable and believable with today's audience's taste, and has a fresh approach to create a realistic horror genre.”

Soham Shah also went on to express his happiness over the immense love he garnered for his debut novel and said, “The response has been exceptional. The publishers at Books International have told me the book should be going into reprint very soon, which leads it to become a best seller! Readers' reviews have been very overwhelming. People who are not regular avid readers have also reverted with raving reviews as they could finish the whole book in two days. So overall it's been very satisfying. Touchwood”.
