Radhika Madan bags Best Actress nomination at 23rd New York Indian Film Festival for Sanaa 23 : Bollywood News

With her upcoming film Sanaa already winning hearts globally, Radhika Madan now seems to have bagged a major nomination for an international award. Directed by Sudhanshu Saria, a National Award-winning director, Sanaa features Madan in the lead role of a 28-year-old woman battling some unresolved trauma. Joining her in the category are actors like Deepti Naval, Kalki Koechlin, Nimisha Sajayan, and Shefali Shah. The film has garnered significant acclaim and now, Radhika has been nominated for the Best Actress award at the 23rd New York Indian Film Festival for her upcoming film, Sanaa.

Expressing her excitement over bagging nomination, Radhika Madan said, "I am grateful and delighted to have lived Sanaa and the worldwide recognition and love for the film has been nothing but overwhelming. Being nominated for the New York Indian Film Festival is a great honour in itself, especially after the global acknowledgment and appreciation for the film at various international film festivals. The support and appreciation showered on my characters and films at every turn is what drives me to keep pushing the bar higher and higher.”

Talking about Sanaa, in the past, it has already been featured in several highly-regarded film festivals. It is the only Indian film to have premiered at both the 26th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and the 38th Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Additionally, it has been selected as the opening night screening for the 25th UK Asia Film Festival.

Coming to The New York Indian Film Festival, it is a prestigious film festival in North America, celebrating Indian cinema and the Indian diaspora. The festival will take place from May 11 to 14, 2023, showcasing cinema from the global Indian community. With an impressive cast including Soham Shah, Shikha Talsania, and Pooja Bhatt, Sanaa is expected to release in India soon too.
