Just one week into Oh My Girl’s comeback, the South Korean female group’s member YooA will temporarily suspend all schedules and activities for the group’s new album promotions.

According to Soompi, group’s label WM Entertainment officially announced on April 5 that YooA had been suffering from lingering aftereffects of Covid-19 and that because her condition had recently taken a turn for the worse, she would be temporarily sitting out Oh My Girl’s promotions for their new album Real Love, which was released last week. The agency issued an official statement informing about the artist’s health. “Hello, this is WM Entertainment. We are making an announcement regarding the state of Oh My Girl’s YooA’s health and her future activities,” the statement began.

“After being diagnosed with COVID-19 [last month], YooA has recently suffered from aftereffects of the virus, and because her condition has gotten worse, she has expressed that it is difficult for her to continue promotions,” the statement continued. “Therefore, she is currently getting plenty of rest in order to stabilize her health. Our agency considers our artists’ health and safety our top priority. Therefore, after careful discussion with the Oh My Girl members, including YooA, it has been decided that she will temporarily be focusing entirely on getting rest and treatment.”

“We ask for fans’ understanding in giving you cause for concern with this sudden news. YooA will be focusing on recovering her health, and we will do our utmost to support YooA’s recovery. Thank you,” the agency wrote concluding the statement.

YooA was previously diagnosed with Covid-19 on March 6, but later it was reported that had already tested negative for the virus before the group’s comeback on March 28. However, it appears that she has not yet totally recovered and is still experiencing aftereffects. Oh My Girl released its second full-length album Real Love on March 28 and is currently in the middle of its promotional activities for the same.
