South Korean female group 2NE1 took over the Coachella Music Festival 2022 stage giving an enthralling reunion performance. The group performed together for the first time since they officially disbanded in 2016.
As Soompi notes, initially CL took the stage, as planned, at Coachella as part of 88rising’s “Heads In The Clouds Forever” set. As she finished her solo performance, she was joined by her 2NE1 bandmates Park Bom, Sandara Park, and Minzy, who lit up the venue with a surprise performance of their iconic chartbuster hit “I AM THE BEST.” Their reunion was much rejoiced by fans as the group reunited after their stint at the 2015 MAMAs (Mnet Asian Music Awards).

2NE1’s track “I Am the Best” became a global hit and got featured in a U.S. Microsoft ad as well as at the 2018 Winter Olympics’ closing ceremony. Their final album ‘Crush’ came out in 2014, while their final single ‘Goodbye’ came out in 2017 as a farewell to the fans.
On April 16th, the 88rising company announced that their artists would be attending Coachella 2022 in Indio, California, including CL and former GOT7 member Jackson Wang. The first day of Coachella 2022 began on April 15th with performances from renowned artists including Harry Styles, who made his Coachella debut and performed a duet with Shania Twain. The second day saw Billie Eilish headlining the show and became the youngest-ever act to headline the festival.
