The trailer of Ranveer Singh's upcoming film Jayeshbhai Jordaar was unveiled earlier today. The actor plays a Gujarati married man expecting his second child with his wife essayed by Shalini Pandey. However, his family is adamant about him giving them a baby boy so that he can carry forward the family legacy of being the village head. However, when Ranveer finds out that he is going to have a girl he flees town with his elder daughter and wife.

At the trailer launch event of the film on Tuesday, Ranveer Singh addressed the media and spoke about the film. Before the release of the trailer, the film was promoted with the question, "Jayeshbhai ko ladka hoga ya ladki?" At the press conference, Ranveer was asked whether he has a preference for the gender of his firstborn with his wife Deepika Padukone. “Actually, it's not my choice. Jaise dialogue hai trailer mai, mandir jaate hai toh poochte hai kya laadoo chahiye ya sheera, jo bhi milta hai le lete hai. Upar wala jaise chahega waise hoga mere personal life mai (Like the dialogue in the film, do we go to the temple and choose the prasad or do we take whatever we get? Similarly, whatever plans God has for me will happen in my personal life),” he responded.

The film directed and written by Divyang Thakkar narrates the story of an unconventional man who rises above the rules set by society to save his unborn daughter. Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be released in theatres on May 13.
