Actor Vidhatri Bandi, who recently impressed audiences with her role in The Diplomat, took a trip down memory lane as her film Jalsa completed three years since its release. Reflecting on the experience, Vidhatri shared heartfelt insights about playing Rohini in the gripping thriller.

Expressing gratitude for being a part of the project, Vidhatri shared, "It’s been three years, but it remains one of the most treasured experiences as an actor, and I’m forever grateful to Suresh sir for choosing me to bring the character of Rohini to life. Working on the Malayalam accent was grueling but a great learning experience. It gave me the confidence that this is something I could do, and that was rewarding in many ways. Being a Bombay girl, so many people were convinced I was a Malayali from Kerala, and for me, that was a massive win!"

Speaking about her experience working alongside stalwarts like Vidya Balan, she added, "As always, it was a dream come true to share the screen with Vidya Balan, who was such a delight to work with and a true inspiration. Even though, sadly, I didn’t get to perform with Shefali Ma’am, I’m still happy to be in the same film as her and hopefully get to perform with her next time."

Vidhatri also reflected on her growth as an actor, comparing her experience in Jalsa to her recent role in The Diplomat. She stated, "Going from playing Rohini from Kerala in Jalsa to Seerat, a Punjabi character in The Diplomat, helped me not only learn the minutest of nuances of these languages and the accents they carry but also helped me expand my skill set. I hope from here on, I get to play more such versatile characters."

Directed by Suresh Triveni, Jalsa is a critically acclaimed 2022 thriller starring Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah in lead roles. The film explores themes of morality, privilege, and guilt through an intense narrative centred around a hit-and-run case. Vidya Balan plays a celebrated journalist, Maya Menon, while Shefali Shah delivers a powerful performance as Ruksana, a housekeeper entangled in the unfolding drama. Vidhatri Bandi played Rohini, a pivotal character in the film, leaving a lasting impact with her performance. As Jalsa completes three years, Vidhatri Bandi continues to make waves in the industry.
