Actress Jacqueline Fernandez has opened up about how she navigates the challenges of being in the spotlight, particularly when facing negative media attention. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, she revealed that letting go of the need to be loved and realizing that this desire is an illusion has been instrumental in maintaining her peace and grounding. This comes at a time when Fernandez is seeking to have the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) FIR and supplementary charge sheet dismissed in a Rs 200 crores money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.

Fernandez emphasized that both positive and negative experiences are inevitable, but her focus on letting go of the need for external validation has been crucial in maintaining her well-being. She asserted “Positives and negatives are always going to be there…But what has helped me the most is giving up this constant desire and need to be loved and realising that this is truly the last illusion we all have and that we all face. This is what has kept me free, humble, and calm.”

Fernandez shared that her strong faith in God and regular meditation have provided her with strength and peace. In her words: “I believe in God, I always have. It’s an extremely strong force in my life. And because of that, I never really fear anything. I meditate often. Now I’m able to distinguish between right and wrong people, and I keep my family and good people close. I hold on to my ability to be empathetic as my superpower, and not a weakness.”
Earlier this year, Fernandez accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar of using the media to defame her image and alleged harassment. She had initially requested the court to file a case against him but later withdrew her plea. The ED subsequently contended before the Delhi High Court that Fernandez was knowingly involved in the possession and use of the proceeds of Sukesh's crimes.
Fernandez's upcoming projects include Welcome To The Jungle with Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon, and Fateh with Sonu Sood.
