Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Siingh, director Gopichandh Malineni and producers Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili and T G Vishwa Prasad attended the trailer launch of their film Jaat at a multiplex in Mumbai. Randeep is originally a Jaat from Haryana but in this film, he plays a South Indian antagonist. Both Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda spoke about this aspect.

Sunny Deol raised laughs as he said, “Randeep claims that he has been watching my films from childhood. Mujhe kabhi lagta nahin hai ki meri umar itni ho gayi hai (laughs)!”

Sunny revealed that Randeep was unsure of being a cruel character and hence, the former gave the latter the example of his brother Bobby Deol who has successfully done villainous roles in Animal (2023), Kanguva (2024), etc.

Sunny Deol said, “It was a pleasure working with him. He was uncomfortable about playing a villain and doing villainous things. I always used to tell him, ‘Bobby ko dekh lo. Even he’s playing a negative role. He’s not playing Bobby. He’s playing a character. Similarly, you are playing a character. So, don’t think too much and go for it’. That’s what he did.”

Randeep Hooda added, “He (Sunny Deol) was very helpful. He also gave me the example of Vinod Khanna saab and told me ‘Iss role ko bedhadak ho ke kar’.”

He continued, “In a film called Jaat, to play a South Indian, being directed by a South filmmaker and to witness Sunny paaji as a Jaat was a great pleasure. He is such a sweetheart. He was full of advice and was always trying to calm me down. His soft-spoken and calming presence off-screen gave me a real boost.”

Jaat releases in cinemas on April 10.
