Preetisheel Singh D'Souza recently offered fans a behind-the-scenes look into the extensive prosthetic transformation process behind Danish Iqbal’s character Bade Sahab in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Through a detailed social media post, the National Award-winning makeup and prosthetic designer shared how the team created two dramatically different versions of the same character for the film.

Known for her elaborate prosthetic work in Indian cinema, Preetisheel explained that the challenge with Bade Sahab’s appearance was to present both the commanding figure from his prime years and a physically weakened version of the same man later in life.
“Bade Sahab! For Dawood Ibrahim in Dhurandhar, played by Danish Iqbal, we had to build two sharply contrasting versions of the same man,” she wrote.
According to her, the younger version of the character was designed to project authority, style and power, while the older version reflected the effects of illness and physical decline. “In his prime, he is a stylish, commanding, and powerful presence. In contrast, we see a fragile, worn-down version of this once formidable figure, who was slowly poisoned,” she added.

To achieve the transformation, the prosthetics team relied on a combination of silicone work, wigs, texturing and detailed colouring techniques. Preetisheel revealed that the process involved “extensive silicone prosthetic work, a sparse wig, layered skin darkening and texturing, wrinkles, eye bags, the removal of eyebrows, and detailed texturing and colouring work across the scalp and body.”
The post quickly drew attention online, especially among cinema enthusiasts interested in prosthetic artistry and character design in Indian films. The behind-the-scenes images also gave audiences a closer look at the level of detailing involved in creating the older appearance of Bade Sahab.
Preetisheel further praised Danish Iqbal for his performance and adaptability during the transformation process. “Danish Iqbal brings both these versions together with remarkable control, making the transition feel seamless and lived-in,” she noted.
