Indian 2: S Shankar SPEAKS about reuniting with Kamal Haasan this December after completing Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 2 : Bollywood News

Everyone who has been waiting to see the duo of Rajinikanth and S Shankar coming together for the sequel to Robot, 2.0, let us tell you that another interesting film is in the offing after the release of this sci-fi. Shankar has earlier confirmed that he is reuniting with another superstar, Kamal Haasan for yet another franchise – Indian. Indian 2 is expected to kick off from this year onwards and S Shankar decided to speak about it in recent reports.

Asserting the same, S Shankar maintained in reports that they recently got Kamal Haasan on board for Indian 2. It is a known fact that the actor is super busy with his focus taking a drastic shift towards politics. Hence, the filmmaker wanted to ensure that the superstar has time in hand to complete the film. Now that, he has decided to go ahead with the film, the casting process is still underway. Shankar maintained that he wants 2.0 to release before dives into Indian 2 and finalize the cast for the film.

He also mentioned that there is quite a bit of possibility that the team for Indian 2 will have a mix of people – from Bollywood and regional film industry. While further details are still under wraps, he has asserted that they are all to set to kick off the film from December onwards.

On the other hand, post 2.0, if you think that the story of Chitti would end, then let us tell you that is not the case. Considering how Robot has been Shankar’s pet project, the filmmaker first took the franchise ahead with 2.0 and is now planning to take it ahead with 3.0. Although he maintains that he would want a good script to come his way for him to take ahead the Rajinikanth starrer, he also added that he wouldn’t do that just for the sake of keeping the franchise alive.
