Ileana D’Cruz SLAMS trolls targeting Rihanna’s post-pregnancy body: “Bloody infuriating unrealistic expectations”

Actor Ileana D'Cruz has spoken out in support of global pop star Rihanna after the singer was subjected to online commentary about her post-pregnancy appearance.

The controversy began when recent photographs of Rihanna with her son Riot in Los Angeles surfaced online. While the images captured a candid mother-son moment, social media conversations quickly shifted focus to her body, with several users questioning why she had not “bounced back” after childbirth.

Reacting strongly to the remarks, Ileana took to Instagram Stories and wrote, “This makes me so mad.” In a follow-up note, she added, “She’s a powerful woman! She made a whole baby and birthed that baby and is feeding and keeping that baby alive and healthy, yet the question is ‘why hasn’t she bounced back yet?’ Bloody infuriating unrealistic expectations.”

Ileana’s long-standing stance on body image

Comments around body image have been a sensitive subject for Ileana, who has previously opened up about her own struggles. In March 2021, the actor revealed that she had dealt with body dysmorphia. “That’s the problem with body dysmorphia. No matter what size you are, no matter what number you are on the scale, you will always find fault with yourself. And the problem is you end up asking people to validate your fears,” she had told Hindustan Times in an interview at the time.

Ileana has largely stayed out of the limelight since becoming a mother. In a live chat with Neha Dhupia, she clarified that she has not quit acting and intends to return when the time feels right. She also shared that her current priority is raising her children.

The actor now lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband, Michael Dolan. The couple welcomed their first son, Kova Phoenix Dolan, on August 1, 2023, followed by their second son, Keanu Rafa Dolan, on June 19, 2025.
