The press conference of IIFA Awards 2025 was held at Novotel Hotel, Jaipur and was a star studded and memorable affair. The highlight of the event was Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan posing with each other.

While posing with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Shahid and Kareena stood at a distance from each other. They were also joined by Bobby Deol, Karan Johar, Kriti Sanon, Kartik Aaryan and Madhuri Dixit. After the ministers left, they happened to stand next to each other. There was absolutely no awkwardness. Initially, Kareena spoke with Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan but eventually, she also ended up having an animated discussion with Shahid as well.

Earlier, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Vijay Varma, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhishek Banerjee, Nimrat Kaur, Karishma Tanna, Aparshakti Khurana and Ravi Kishan came on the stage together.

Kartik Aaryan vs Anthony Pettis

The other USP of the afternoon was the appearance of American mixed martial artist Anthony Pettis on the stage. He was joined by Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar.

The host asked Anthony Pettis to teach Kartik and KJo one fight move and presented them with boxing gloves. Karan was amused by it and said, “I’d rather do ‘Mere Dholna’ with Madhuri!”

It was then left to Kartik Aaryan to do the needful. He asked Karan, “Can you be the referee?” Karan stood away and replied, “No. Meri jagah yahan hai! Aap superstar hero, yeh superstar sportsman. Meri kya zaroorat hai!”

Kartik Aaryan raised laughs as he quipped, “I just had patties in the morning. I don’t want to get bashed up by Pettis!”

The media and other attendees, however, cheered for Kartik and addressed him as ‘Chandu Champion’. Kartik, thus, agreed for a friendly fight.

The first round began and Kartik Aaryan immediately remarked, “Yeh sach mein maar raha hai!” He told Anthony Pettis, “We act. We don’t fight!” KJo joked, “I just saw what you were doing Kartik. And there’s a reason why I didn’t do it!”

Ultimately, Kartik Aaryan managed to hit Anthony Pettis and the crowd applauded the actor.
