He is someone who hails from a graphical background, is an ex-student of the 'Karan Johar school of film making', and has the
multi-starrer Kaal on his CV. He is none other than Soham Shah, the young director who brought together the likes of Imran Khan, Shruti Hassan, Sanjay Dutt, Danny Denzongpa and likes, in his latest offering Luck. Just a couple of days back, he was on Bollywood Hungama chatting with his fans and surfers on the famous Celebrity Chat section. But, for those who missed this 'LUCKy' session, we give you yet another chance to relive the chat through its excerpts:

Soham Shah: Hello everyone....I am Soham Shah, only on Bollywood Hungama!!!

Niraj: 1- Sohamji, you have made a wonderful film. Specially the 1st half was excellent and the opening train sequence was mind-blowing. The dialogue 'Tamang kharidta nahi, bhaade pe leta hai' is my personal favorite from Luck.

Soham Shah: Niraj, I am so glad that u appreciated the film. I hope that most of your family and friends also liked the film. I strongly recommend that all of you should watch the film.

Ravi: hi Soham, what are the responses that you are getting from the people and industry wala?

Soham Shah: Ravi, the responses are 80% positive and a small section of the ppl are little disappointed with the last 15 mts , but overall...it's very positive as ppl are loving the concept of the film.

Niraj: Can you please tell us why did you leave Dharma Productions?

Soham Shah: niraj, I had worked on a particular script that I believed in . And at the final stages, Dharma backed out coz of the budget issues. Hence I decided to move on.

Ravi: I watched Luck and it's really great.

Soham Shah: Ravi, thanks

Niraj: What was the budget of the Luck?

Soham Shah: Niraj, 40 crores

Ravi: so...what are your future projects after Luck....??

Soham Shah: Ravi, I am working on 2 scripts ...one is for Sanjay Dutt productions and the other 1..I will have to lock it. Which I will decide soon.

Niraj: How did you get the idea for this story?

Soham Shah: Niraj, I read a particular article about a person working on the 47th floor of a bldg in NY fell off and 1 year later, he was perfectly fit and he claimed that it was his good Luck that he survived that's how I started thinking about the film Luck

Kevin: hi sir why u took so long time to make ur other film?

Soham Shah: Kevin, it took me a long time to leave my earlier subject and start working on Luck and also Luck took me 1 year to write, and then, being a huge budget film, it takes time to gather big stars

Niraj: 'Khudaya Ve' resembles 'Jiye to Jiye Kaise' from Saajan by Nadeem-Shravan. Did you realize this when you heard the song first?

Soham Shah: Niraj, No....

Flint: hey Soham watched Luck and came out with a smile of contentment.

Soham Shah: flint, I am so happy that u liked it :-)

Sha: hey sonam...let me congrats you first ...i liked the movie action, it was kool.

Soham Shah: sha, I am really happy that u appreciated the film.

KB: hi..Personal...Whose performance did u like?

Soham Shah: KB, Imran is my fave ...Sanjay Dutt is the best, and then Danny is the ultimate. Hope u agree with me:-)

Flint: the action scenes were shot splendidly, and the USP of the film was its power packed dialogue and its stylized packaging.

Soham Shah: flint, thanks a lot

Kevin: hi i have heard that u are also graphic designer r u?

Soham Shah: Kevin, that's true ...And I still design regularly.

Yajur: sir why in the climax.... none of the bullets from Ravi hit Imran...is not the strange...sir ek do bullets to lagni chaiye thi...do you think it was unrealistic?

Soham Shah: yajur, I totally agree with u . But honestly, I do not have any escape statements. I totally accept that particular flaw.

Yajur: sir why was Imran chosen......why not an action stars like Akshay Kumar?

Soham Shah: yajur, if u go to see the character of Imran, it's not designed to do action. The circumstances make him do all that he does. And he is supposed to be dependent on his LUCK. So, Luck needed to be more powerful than the hero.

Niraj: The great tradition of song and dance in Hindi Cinema is loosing its importance these days. You have also not used many songs as a part of the film? Do you feel that song and dance is no more required in Hindi Cinema?

Soham Shah: Niraj, the day I make a romantic film, it will be full of songs. I think that the inclusion of songs in the genre of Luck will make it look like out of place

Dhavs: were you nervous directing a big budget movie?

Soham Shah: dhavs, NO

Yajur: will u work with SRK again after Kaal?

Soham Shah: yajur, I would love to...

Ashley: why was the climax bit shaky....?

Niraj: What is the basic difference between 'Old School' and 'New School' of filmmaking?

Soham Shah: niraj, Old School is outdated, u have 2 updated with the new School.

Yajur: which film is closer to you Kaal or Luck?

Soham Shah: yajur, right now Luck...coz' it released 3 days back...but Kaal will always be my favorite.

Niraj: sohamji, is it possible for your fans to meet you in person?

Soham Shah: Niraj, yes surely

Srk: how was Shruti as a newcomer did you have to work on her as It was her first debut?

Soham Shah : srk, i guess u have to work on every actor , but being a debut film, u have 2 take extra care ...but Shruti is brilliant at what she is doing

Yajur: why did u take Shruti Hassan...a debutant in such a mega budget film.......?

Soham Shah: yajur, 1st of all, I wanted a girl who cud match Imran's age and freshness. 2ndly, Shruti was very unconventional. That's excatly what I liked about her.

Srk: how was it working with Danny Dengongpa, because he's such a cool actor and a great person?

Soham Shah: srk, He is 1 of the most humble human beings and great fun to work with . I just wish we cud see more of him on screen.

Niraj: As a publicity designer did you always dream to be a writer-director?

Soham Shah: Niraj, I guess once I had achieved what I was aiming from being a publicity designer. I had to graduate at higher levels of creativity. So the trans4mation.

Srk: which actors are you looking forward to work with?

Soham Shah: SRK, once my script is ready ...only then, will be star cast the process. But Sanjay Dutt will be there.

Yajur: i think the train scene ...was ultimate...was it difficult to shoot?

Soham Shah: yajur, yes it was really very difficult and also very risky with the number of trains running around.

Srk: Jee le Is a great song as we haven't really seen Imran dancing in total b'wood style and now we know Shruti can dance damn well.

Soham Shah: srk, thank u that u like it. We wanted to change the saying 'pappu can dance sala'...

Mahesh: Luck is one of the best ever action movie for Allan Amin, do you agree ?

Soham Shah: Mahesh, Yes I do agree

Sheik Khan: If in 'LUCK' you have a message to pass... what would that be?

Soham Shah: sheik, do not cross railway tracks

Mahesh: Is that true that the movie was shot in 70 days only?

Soham Shah: Mahesh, yes...that's true

angel1: which are the films you are looking forward to watch this year?

Soham Shah: angel1, Kites, 3 Idiots, LAK, etc....I look 4ward to every Friday's release

Parina: How come the Character of Ravi Kissen was firing the machine gun aimed high in the air but the bullets were hitting in Imran's feet?

Soham Shah: Parina, its all about LUCK....:-)

Sheik Khan: If in 'LUCK' you have a message to pass... what would that be?

Soham Shah: sheik, do not cross railway tracks

Parina: Indian law wouldn't allow serial-killers to be 'baa-izzat bari' even if they survived hanging. Was that a good liberty to take?

Soham Shah: parina, Its all about LUCK...just joking :-) , its not a liberty taken. U can go to the court and chek the facts coz' we did that.

Yajur: sir do you agree that Imran doesn't like dancing...he looked a bit uncomfortable in jee lee?

Soham Shah: yajur, that's true. But he really worked hard.

Nik: have u taken formal training in film making?

Soham Shah: Nik, i assisted Karan Johar and RGV..That was the only formal training.

Mahesh: How long was Rimoh with you, i.e. was he during Kaal or during Luck only

Soham Shah: Mahesh, Rimoh was with me during LUCK and he is an extremely hard working boy.

Niraj: Which Hindi Film writers/directors inspired you in your childhood?

Soham Shah: Niraj, My fave have been Manmohan Desai, Prakash Mehra, RGV, Yash Chopra etc...And I watch Hindi movies and English films ...very few foreign languages. And I do not rally get the time to catch up with the film so often.

Parina: If Musa started this game of Luck... that he was playing with in the beginning when he runs across train platforms?

Soham Shah: parina that was supposed to be earlier days of Musa's life, where he would himself be 1 of the participants.

Mahesh: Will you ever try to cast Mithunda in your next venture?

Soham Shah: Mahesh, I would love to work with him. He is an asset to any film!

Yajur: sir...what was your favorite stunt or scene in the film??

Soham Shah: yajur, the beginning train sequence.

Kavin: as a graphics designer why animation films do not work in India?

Soham Shah: kavin, the main reason is that all the animation movies made abroad have a superb human characterization, emotions and relationships, keeping the cartoons characteristics intact which is even more difficult than making a human film that's what we miss

Yoyo: Do you want to say anything to critics who blasted your movie?

Soham Shah: yoyo, yes, the fact is that I can be a critic but they can't be a director. Also, they are critics and their job is to criticize. And coz' they cant do anything else ...they are critics. I give them 1 star ...also if they have a right to say anything to abt my film, so do I.

Maninder: Soham how was the whole film making experience?

Soham Shah: manider, I love traveling and also capturing the beauty that u saw in LUCK. it was very difficult and a lot of hard work with a very good team. I think that was wroth it
