In a recent podcast interview on AfterHours with All About Eve, Huma Qureshi addressed the rampant trolling culture prevalent in the entertainment industry, particularly focusing on the criticism faced by Deepika Padukone after her appearance on Karan Johar's chat show, Koffee With Karan 8.

The first episode of the talk show featuring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh garnered both adoration and backlash from viewers. Deepika's candid revelation about dating multiple men while in a relationship with Ranveer Singh sparked a wave of criticism against her. Reacting to this backlash, Huma Qureshi expressed her frustration with trolls, emphasizing their unpredictable nature.

In the podcast, Qureshi condemned the culture of trolling, stating, “Ab kya bol sakte hai, (what can we say) ridiculous…We are supposed to present a kind of palatable…I guess, something they are expecting. I don't know what it is; I don't think anyone knows what it is.”

Furthermore, Qureshi highlighted the arbitrary nature of trolling, emphasizing how individuals are targeted for various reasons, regardless of their choices. She remarked, “If someone is wearing black, troll, if someone is not wearing black, troll them. You know what I mean...”

The controversial episode featured Deepika and Ranveer discussing the initial stages of their relationship, highlighting their openness and lack of exclusivity in the early days. Despite trolls questioning their marriage, the couple has been happily married for five years.

Talking about Qureshi’s upcoming venture, the actress has Pooja Meri Jaan, and the completion of filming for the web series Maharani 3 in October 2023. Maharani 3, set to premiere soon on SonyLIV, features a stellar cast including Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Kani Kusruti, Anuja Sathe, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.
