Honey Singh reveals Shah Rukh Khan did not like ‘Chaar Botal Vodka’ and said that “it will not work” : Bollywood News

Rapper-singer Honey Singh is currently promoting his new single ‘Naagan’. In a recent interview, he spoke about how Shah Rukh Khan did not like his song ‘Chaar Botal Vodka’ which went on to become a massive hit.

Talking to Curly Tales, Honey said, “I wrote ‘Chaar Botal Vodka’ in 2013, when I was touring with Shah Rukh Khan in Australia. Some people from the Punjabi community had taken offence to my music and were staging a protest. They said that I had spoiled their culture and was portraying it wrongly, and that I couldn’t perform. Shah Rukh said that if I can’t perform, the show won’t happen. Finally, the show happened, and Shah Rukh told me not to take this to heart, because only 500 people were protesting, but 15000 were showering me with their love during the show. My heart broke.”

According to Honey, he went back to his room and was joined there only by his choreographer and one dancer. He said that the three of them consumed four bottles of vodka between them and overnight wrote the song ‘Chaar Botal Vodka’. He said, “I made Shah Rukh bhai listen to it. I made a song last night, and I want you to listen to it. Shah Rukh replied, “This is a terrible song, it won’t work. I said, ‘this is going to work, and it went massive.’”

Earlier, Honey had spoken about a similar incidence where he revealed how Shah Rukh Khan did not like ‘Lungi Dance’ for Chennai Express initially. Honey Singh had told ETimes, “I have always had trouble making music for Bollywood. When Shah Rukh bhai called me to make a song for Chennai Express, he told me to make something like 'Angreji Beat’. I asked him why, so he said because that song was a huge hit. I told him that I won’t make a song like that but will create a number which has his vibe. I made ‘Lungi Dance’ and he did not like it. He took three weeks to decide whether he wants the song or not.”
