Here’s how you can achieve Sara Ali Khan’s smouldering smoky eye make-up in 8 easy steps

In the photo, Sara is seen all decked up as she is returning from her shoot in her car and seems like the actress is stuck in traffic. Calling it a carfie, the Atrangi Re wrote, “post pack up carfie, Traffic jam.” Her gelled hair is styled into crimped waves and a monochrome nude makeup with smokey eyes looks well put and we have decoded how to recreate Sara’s smoky eye make-up in simple steps.

1. Prime your lid.

To prevent shadow fallout and smudging later in the day, prime the eye area first. You may prime using either a brightening concealer or an eye-shadow primer; both will assist to smooth out your eye region and give your makeup something to adhere to.

2. Pick out your eye-shadow shades.

Three colours are used in a traditional smoky eye: a colour for your mobile lid (the area that moves when you blink), a crease colour, and a highlight colour. The highlight hues are typically the lightest, the crease shades are typically the darkest, and the movable lid shade is often a mid-tone. Matte colours in the families of black, brown, grey, navy, or green are often used to create a traditional smokey eye, but don't be hesitant to experiment with lighter or more vibrant hues.

3. Apply your all-over eye-shadow shade.

Apply the colour you've chosen as your movable lid shade (or all-over eyeshadow shade) to your lid with a flat eye-shadow brush. In order for it to appear more like a gradient and less like a giant saturated area of colour, blend it very thoroughly from the bottom portion of your lid to the middle of the lid.

4. Apply your crease colour.

Next, let's incorporate a crease colour to give your appearance more depth. Choose a complementary dark colour that is one to two shades darker than your overall colour. After that, apply the colour to your eye's outer corner using a blending brush. Move in a tiny, circular motion toward the centre of your eyelid as you mix the colour, building more layers to deepen the pigment until you have a smoky blend. When the change between this hue and your overall tone is seamless, you're ready to continue on to the following phase.

5. Apply your highlighter.

Apply a soft, neutral shadow from your crease up to your brow bone that is one to two shades lighter than your overall tone. This accent colour will help to balance the appearance and completely complete the desired gradient effect. Use your highlighter to add a little additional glow to the inner corners of your eyes to make them appear bright and alert.

6. Blend, blend, and blend some more.

A smooth transition between the three colours is essential for stunning smokey eyes. Use a fluffy brush to mix the three tones together until there is no longer a noticeable difference between them.

7. Line your eyes.

Line the eyelids with a black eyeshadow before using the eyeliner pencil. Once you're satisfied with the form of your liner, top it off with gel liner, making sure to apply along both your upper and lower lash lines. A pencil liner can be a better option if you want to get a faint smoky eye. Liquid eyeliner is best for creating a sharp cat-eye. Don't forget that the colour of your eyeliner may complete your appearance. Using a dark brown pencil on the waterline rather than a black one will somewhat open the eyes and make them appear wider. Black eyeliner will give you a highly smoky, dramatic effect.

9. Apply the rest of your makeup, then circle back to mascara.

Apply the remainder of her makeup before returning to mascara as the final step rather than starting with it. The eyelashes will be incredibly dark since makeup powder won't get on them altogether. Always coat your bottom lashes in mascara before your top lashes. So that when you glance up while applying mascara to your bottom lashes, you don't wind up with mascara all over your lid.

And presto! You are an expert at the smoky eye. This makeup look's versatility allows you to modify it to achieve any style or amount of intensity that you like. To make yours appear as distinctive as you are, feel free to add your own own flare!
