One of the biggest weddings of the year featuring Anushka Sharma and Indian Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli took place on Monday. The couple got hitched yesterday in private ceremony in Italy. The three-day wedding extravaganza was attended by family and close friends as the couple got married in a beautiful villa at Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany.
Away from the hullabaloo of the paparazzi culture in India, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had their dream wedding at Borgo Finocchioeto. According to their website, it was a farming village passed between wealthy Tuscan families for centuries, populated by sharecroppers who worked the surrounding farmland for their livelihood. The agricultural extension of La Torre, the castle that sits behind it, Borgo Finocchieto is first mentioned in a tax and land audit from 1318 which listed it as a possession of the Giulieschi family, at the time owners of the greater Bibbiano area.
All the wedding rituals of Anushka and Virat took place at the beautiful location the Borgo. The place comprises of 22 bedrooms, a formal dining room and outdoor dining terrace, a living room with grand piano and study, media room, library, bar, conference facility and ballroom accommodating up to 70 people, cantina and wine tasting room, a professional teaching kitchen, an interior arcaded courtyard, a piazza, and extensive lawn and garden spaces with various shaded benches and a gazebo.
Virat and Anushka Sharma got married in the main area of the villa. The couple had several ceremonies around the same place. They even shared pictures of themselves posing near the Galleria of the villa.
The newlyweds will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on December 21 which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26.
On the work front, Anushka Sharma will return to Mumbai from their South Africa trip in January 2018 to begin the next schedule of Aanand L Rai’s film with Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai. Anushka will start the promotions of Pari which is releasing on 9th February. She will also start prepping for Sui Dhaaga– Made in India as the shooting for the same starts in February 2018 with Varun Dhawan.
