Actor Govinda has clarified that his Twitter account was hacked after a now-deleted tweet regarding the Nuh violence went viral on social media. In the tweet, which has since been deleted, Govinda condemned the violence and said that he was ashamed of the people who call themselves Hindus and do such things.

In the video, Govinda asserted that he has not used Twitter for many years and his team has confirmed that they did not tweet the message. He added that he has filed a complaint with the cybercrime police.
Captioning the clarification video, the Partner actor wrote, “Just got a call from @mumbaigirl14 about a Tweet. I would like say that my Twitter account has been Hacked so please do not attribute the Haryana tweet to me.I have not posted it.”

For the unversed, the violence in Nuh broke out on Monday after a mob tried to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession. Two home guards were killed and several others were injured in the clashes. The violence soon spread to Sohna in Gurugram district, where mobs pelted stones and set fire to vehicles and a shop.
