Actor Govinda has responded to allegations made by his wife Sunita Ahuja, who recently accused him of having an extra-marital affair and named a newcomer actress, Komal, in connection with the claim. Addressing the matter, Govinda thanked Komal for not commenting publicly and said her silence helped prevent further escalation.
After the allegations became public, Govinda spoke to ANI and acknowledged Komal’s decision to stay quiet. He said she had “saved” him by not reacting or issuing statements amid the controversy.
Govinda also responded to Sunita Ahuja’s claim that he did not support their son Yashvardhan Ahuja’s efforts to establish himself in the film industry. Speaking about his family situation and career choices, the actor said, “When I quit politics, I thought that the competition and jealousy might trouble my family, specially my kids. This is why I left politics for the sake of my family.”
He further added that he had tried to help his son by reaching out within the industry. “I even ask Sajid Nadiadwala to help Yash and he even gave his cabin to him to help him learn how films are made,” Govinda said.
Reflecting on his position within the family during that phase, Govinda said, “Also, I wasn’t asked about this much at home, and there was a environment ready at my home in which it was perceived that I am unsuccessful in terms of films.”
Sunita Ahuja’s allegations had drawn attention after she publicly accused Govinda of infidelity and named Komal as being involved. Komal, however, did not issue any response or clarification following the claims.
Govinda’s remarks mark his first detailed response to both the allegations and the questions surrounding his involvement in his son’s career.
