Denim may be considered a casual wardrobe staple, but at the special screening of Subedaar, Gauri Khan and Maheep Kapoor demonstrated how the right accessories can transform even the most relaxed outfits into standout fashion statements. Both opted for denim-based ensembles for the evening, but it was their luxury handbags that emerged as the real conversation starters.
Gauri Khan kept her look understated yet polished with a crisp oversized white graphic shirt paired with baggy, wide-leg blue denims. The relaxed silhouette created an effortless aesthetic, but her choice of handbag introduced a striking contrast to the otherwise neutral palette.
The interior designer and producer carried the Hermès Constance To Go in a vibrant matte alligator Mimosa yellow. The rare Hermès piece, known among collectors for its structured silhouette and signature palladium ‘H’ clasp, instantly elevated the outfit. The pop of sunshine-yellow against the classic white-and-denim combination created a sharp visual contrast, turning the casual look into a fashion-forward ensemble.
Gauri completed the outfit with her signature voluminous waves and soft, dewy makeup, allowing the bag to remain the focal point of the look. Standing alongside her, Maheep Kapoor embraced a different interpretation of denim styling. She leaned into the revival of the “Canadian tuxedo” trend, opting for a coordinated denim set featuring a cropped, short-sleeved jacket paired with high-waisted flared jeans.
To break the monochrome palette, Maheep chose the Bottega Veneta Teen Lauren 1980 Chained Clutch in a deep Barolo maroon shade. Crafted in the brand’s signature padded Intrecciato leather, the clutch added texture and depth to the denim-heavy outfit. The gold chain strap complemented her accessories, including a luxury watch and gold jewellery, introducing a subtle touch of retro glamour to the otherwise utilitarian fabric.
With sleek, straight hair and minimal styling, Maheep’s look balanced classic denim with statement accessories.
Interestingly, the handbags themselves turned the seemingly relaxed outing into a high-value fashion moment. Gauri’s rare Hermès Constance is estimated to be worth approximately Rs. 19.69 lakh, while Maheep’s archival-inspired Bottega Veneta clutch retails around Rs. 3.63 lakh.
Together, the two looks served as a reminder that in fashion, the right bag can redefine an entire outfit—especially when it comes with a luxury price tag.
