‘Galiyan’ gives a perfect start to Ek Villain

en Bollywood News ‘Galiyan’ gives a perfect start to Ek Villain

Thankfully, here comes a song which actually justifies the immense hype that has been created around it for a fortnight now. A lot was being said and written about 'Galiyan' being an anthem number in Ek Villain which would actually belong to the same class as Aashiqui 2.

Well, we had an exclusive sneak peek at the three minute video of 'Galiyan' and as has turned out, it isn't really a tall claim after all, what with the Ankit Tiwari composed and sung number actually proving its worth in the very first listening.

‘Galiyan’ gives a perfect start to Ek Villain

A love song which is set in a contemporary mood, 'Galiyan' has a good mix of heart rendering lyrics (courtesy Manoj Muntashir) and a tune which ignites a strong feeling of love. Moreover, for those who have lapped up a soundtrack from a Bhatt affair in a jiffy, this offering from Balaji makes for a perfect recipe.

What turns out to be an icing on the cake is the video which has a quintessential Mohit Suri touch to it, what with camera focusing on the characters and their feelings like skyscrapers and landscapes behind them. This means that it is instantly established that Shraddha Kapoor is a girl pretty much in love, what with her opening dialogue 'Jab tak hum kisi ke hamdard nahi bante naa, tak tak hum dard se, aur dard hum se zuda nahi hota' pretty much setting the tone of what next would follow.

Moreover, Sidharth Malhotra has a mysterious touch to his character which is pretty much conveyed in the manner where he stays relatively serious throughout, despite love being all around him in the form of Shraddha. Even as the two click pictures on any and every given moment (camera seems to be a character here, which may pretty much have a larger role to play in the narrative of Ek Villain), the cry of 'Aye Villain' towards the end, followed by a solitary shot of Riteish Deshmukh, does well to invoke a strong sense of intrigue.

While visuals centered on nature pretty much act as eye candy for 'Galiyan', what with an underwater sequence adding on to a classy appeal, what remains in your mind long after the song is played is a wholesome effort that has been put together by the musical team of the song.

Moreover, with the promise of Mithoon's 'Banjaara' coming up next, followed by 'Zaroorat' as well as Shraddha's 'unplugged version' of 'Galiyan', the expectation of Ek Villain actually turning out to be a soundtrack of the season would seemingly be met after all!
