The trailer of Fukrey 3 was launched at an entertaining launch event today in Mumbai. Since it’s a comic caper, the event was also filled with a lot of laughter and entertainment. Interestingly, not just Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi, director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and producer Ritesh Sidhwani were present, but Varun Sharma’s mother Veena Sharma also graced the occasion.

Veena Sharma even came on stage and was asked if she began to be called ‘Choocha ki mummy’ after the first part was released. Choocha was the name of Varun Sharma in Fukrey series and created a rage among audiences.

Veena Sharma raised laughs as she said, “This has happened. When the first part was released in 2013, I used to do a job in Jalandhar. When I used to go for evening walks, earlier, it used to be a normal experience. But after the release of Fukrey, kids began addressing me as ‘Choocha mummy’ and ‘Fukra mummy’! ‘Choocha mummy’ toh theek lagta tha. But when they called me ‘Fukra mummy’, I thought, ‘Main toh waisi nahin hoon’. I am a very simple lady! Maine toh kabhi fukrapanti ki nahin’. Then I realized that it’s all thanks to my son. Hence, I started enjoying it.”

She continued, “Since I have got this platform, I’d like to say a big thank you to Mrigh sir. Aapne isko sawaara aur taraasha. Tab jaa ke Choocha ka character itna accha nikla. My son got an identity thanks to this character and film.” Mrighdeep Singh Lamba jokingly stated, “Aunty, aap ho ‘Fukra mummy’!”

Varun Sharma was a bit teary-eyed with this conversation. He lovingly accompanied her mother to the stage. He held her hand while she climbed the dais and kissed her forehead. He then said, “It’s an emotional moment. It has been my dream since I was a child to act. Thank you Mrigh sir. I love you.” He also thanked producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar and writer Vipul Vig.

Fukrey 3 releases in cinemas on September 28.
