The year started with Siddharth Anand’s Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter, where airplanes played a vital role. The same was the case with the recent release Operation Valentine. Now as we look at the upcoming releases, we realize that there are quite a few films this year where airplanes play an important role.

So, here’s looking at 5 prominent movies of 2024 where airplanes are a character in themselves.

Fighter

Filmmaker Siddharth Anand’s Fighter is India’s first aerial action film. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi, the movie tells a fictitious tale inspired by the real Pulwama attacks of 2019. The film made quite a noise after its release, and it performed decently at the box office.

Operation Valentine

Just like Fighter, this movie too is based on air force officers, and it also revolves around the 2019 Pulwama attacks. However, Operation Valentine tells a different story, and it employs a different approach too. It is said to be a film where Indian officers combat the fiercest attack from the enemies. Directed by Shakti Pratap Singh, the movie stars Varun Tej and Manushi Chhillar in lead roles.

Yodha

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions’ Yodha is a high-octane action flick starring Sidharth Malhotra in the titular role. Directed by first timers Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, the movie, which also stars Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani, revolves around a plane hijack and how the protagonist rescues the passengers. There is a good amount of excitement for the movie, which releases on March 15.

Crew

This is the only film on the list that falls in the comedy zone. Filmmaker Rajesh Krishnan’s Crew has an ensemble cast of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon. The film is a wild comedy that revolves around three air hostess friends and their grand plan that will change their lives. The trailer of the film was recently released to a good response. The film is all set to be released on March 29.

Sarfira

Starring Akshay Kumar in the lead, Sarfira is the official Hindi remake of the acclaimed and successful Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru (2020). It’s directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, who also helmed the original. It aims to tell the story of a man from a remote village who dreams of starting his own airline service and combats various obstacles in his path. The film will be released on July 12.
