Fighter director Siddharth Anand opens up on his bond with Hrithik Roshan; says, “He can read the look on my face” : Bollywood News

Pathaan director Siddharth Anand is currently gearing up for his next project, Fighter, which is touted to be India’s first aerial action film. It marks his reunion with his Bang Bang and War actor Hrithik Roshan, and it sees him star opposite Deepika Padukone for the first time. The film seems to be a huge-scale project.

With Pathaan's success, Siddharth Anand acted quickly to advance. He has got his hands full with Fighter filming. Sharing the film’s current status, Siddharth told ETimes, “We recently wrapped the third schedule. First was in Assam, second in Kashmir and the last one in Hyderabad. It is still early days for the film, but we are on the journey to creating something special.”

Post Pathaan, Siddharth will be collaborating with Deepika Padukone once more and he promises to present her in a whole new light. He further gives insight into Deepika’s character in the film. He said, “In Pathaan, she was a spy and in Fighter she is playing an air force officer. She is playing a character which is authentic, rooted and her research has been fabulous. Deepika plays real life characters beautifully. Although in Pathaan hers was a commercial-extravagant role, but in Fighter, she is very authentic. She is doing a lot of action and crazy stuff.”

Talking about his and Hrithik’s bond, the director said, “Hrithik is very special to me and we’ve been working for the last 10 years now! There is great synergy between us. He understands what I want through my actions, and he can read the look on my face. That energy is very special between an actor and a director. Hopefully the audience will get a new treat.”

Fighter marks as second collaboration for Siddharth Anand and Deepika Padukone whereas as third collaboration with Hrithik Roshan. Hrithik was last seen in Vikram Vedha along with Saif Ali Khan. Deepika has an interesting line-up of films including The Intern remake, Singham Again, Project K, among others.
