In a recent interview on YouTube channel Ahmad Ali Butt, Khan addressed the question of whether his rapid rise in Bollywood threatened some industry bigwigs. He acknowledged the existence of comparisons and industry politics, both in Pakistan and India.

He asserted, “I got a lot of love from India, but look, every industry has its politics. In Pakistan as well. But it’s easier to combat in your own industry. I’m not saying it’s unheard of, I’m sure it happens everywhere.”

Khan further explained, “There was one thing, I had PRs, and they used to get angry at this… I was like, ‘I need you to take out my name, not put it in there’. I would ask my PR to remove me from places, not put me. My manager would say, ‘You don’t know how the world works’.”

For the unversed, Khan, who originally established himself in Pakistani television serials, embarked on his Bollywood journey in 2014 with the romantic comedy Khoobsurat opposite Sonam Kapoor. He quickly followed it up with critically acclaimed performances in films like Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Following the 2016 Uri attacks, Pakistani artists faced a temporary ban in India, effectively halting Khan's Bollywood trajectory. However, with the Bombay High Court lifting the ban in 2023, possibilities of a comeback have emerged.

Coming back to the interview, the actor also recounted anecdotes about disagreements with his PR team, preferring to maintain a lower profile and avoiding excessive self-promotion.
