Faruk Kabir calls his next Salakaar, starring Mouni Roy, “dangerously close to the truth” : Bollywood News

Khuda Haafiz director Faruk Kabir is all set to give yet another thrilling venture to the audiences on the screen. After two years, the director is returning with his next project, Salakaar, which tells the legend of an extraordinary Indian spymaster who used sheer grit to protect the nation's security.

Taking to his social media, the director unveiled the motion poster of the film that will stream on JioHotstar. In December last year, he had also announced that Mouni Roy would star in the film. Admitting that bringing this film to the screen has been an eventful journey of its own, he says, “In today’s times, taking complete onus of your work — standing by your convictions in the age of second-guessers, while seeing it through every storm — is not easy. But for me, it’s in the blood.”

Faruk adds, “I’ve lived through the highs and the heartbreaks of storytelling. After Khuda Haafiz 2, I knew I couldn’t return unless I had something truly powerful to say. For a while now, I’ve been wanting to tell a story that doesn’t just entertain but speaks — to my audience in India and across the world. Salakaar is that story. It's gritty, emotional, and dangerously close to the truth. And now that we've made it, I can't wait for the world to see it.” Salakaar’s release date is yet to be announced, and it will start streaming soon on JioHotstar.
