Popular South Korean group EXO has made their long-awaited comeback. After much anticipation, the group dropped their mini-album 'Don’t Fight the Feeling' on June 7, 2021. The music video for the title track is futuristic and the sci-fi meets K-pop vibes is totally in EXO's lane.
The music video opens with the montage of members Xiumin, D.O., Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Kai, and Sehun in a spaceship. The next scene cuts to a meteor colliding with a planet as the words 'EXO' and 'History' make an appearance on the scene. EXO croons about their beliefs and encourages their fans to believe in themselves and run freely towards the future after facing numerous trying times in life. The sentiments reflect in their lyrics "Don't fight the feeling / Follow your instincts, babe / Don't fight the feeling / Don't even stop yourself / Yeah, don't fight the feeling, yeah / Don't fight the feeling, yeah."
Don’t Fight the Feeling' serves as a dance anthem and marks the comeback of Lay Zhang who flaunts his dance skills apart from vocals as it transitions to D.O. He was last seen in EXO's music video 'Tempo' in November 2018. The light rhythm, synthesizer, and heavy bass track has been penned by Kenzie.
Chanyeol and Baekhyun pre-recorded the content before they enlisted in the military for their mandatory service. Meanwhile, Suho and Chen are currently serving in the military.
EXO released their last album 'Obsession' in 2019. Since then, members have been releasing solo music.
