Actor Upendra Limaye is riding high on the success of Animal. The actor who starred in both the Marathi film Mulshi Pattern and its Hindi remake Antim: The Final Truth, has weighed in on the comparison between the two movies. Limaye believes that the original Marathi film was more "honest" and "faithful" to the source material.

“The calculation is different,” Limaye said in an exclusive video interview. “I am actor of the original film so I feel we were more faithful with the content. Mainstream or Bhaijaan (Salman Khan) would have had a different calculation. They might be correct in their place, I don’t know, but original was more honest, more faithful to the content.”

Limaye’s comments echo those of Mulshi Pattern director Pravin Tarde, who previously criticized Antim for straying too far from the original story.

Mulshi Pattern, a Marathi film that addressed social issues and garnered acclaim for its compelling storytelling, served as the inspiration for Antim. The Hindi adaptation, featuring Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma, brought its own perspective and flavour to the narrative, sparking discussions about the creative choices made in the remake.

His remarks highlight the subjective nature of film adaptations, where considerations for mainstream appeal and star power can lead to divergent creative decisions. Upendra Limaye's emphasis on the original's honesty and fidelity to the narrative suggests a commitment to the integrity of the source material, a sentiment often cherished by fans of the original work.

However Upendra Limaye was recently seen in Animal. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, features Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role along with Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, among others in key roles. The film released on December 1 in all South languages and Hindi.
