Renowned film critic Taran Adarsh opens up about Adipurush teaser and trailer.

The much-anticipated film Adipurush is all set to make its grand release on June 16. The assets of the film have already garnered attention from the audience. Renowned film critic Taran Adarsh shared his candid views on the teaser and trailer of the same.

In an exclusive video interview with Bollywood Hungama, Taran Adarsh shared his views on the teaser and trailer of Adipurush. He said, “After I saw the teaser, I was very disappointed. In fact, at the trailer launch, I told Om Raut and Prabhas also that I have not liked your teaser, but I have loved the trailer.”

He added, “I liked the trailer in terms of look, in terms of everything its looking nice. I hope that the film works. It’s a very big film. It’s exactly one month down the line in 16^th of June its releasing. I don’t know how the film has shaped up, no one has watched it. I am sure the first premiere would be happening on the 13^th of June at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York prior to that I don’t think there would be any screening and then perhaps there would be screening for the media if at all there are and then straight to the audience on the 16^th.”

Talking about Ramayana, Taran said, “But I think Ramayana as an emotion is a very strong emotion and I think for me I would want to watch Ramayana on the big screen.”

Recalling the time, when he used to watch Ramayana on TV, Taran said, “When Ramanand Sagar sahab was making Ramayana on Doordarshan and I remember there were three serials at that point of time, i.e., Ramanand Sagar sahab’s Ramayana, B.R. Chopra sahab’s Mahabharat and Ramesh Sippy Sir’s Buniyaad. When these serials used to air on TV, there used to be no traffic. The roads used to be completely empty.”

Taran also shared that Om Raut has got the required resources to make the film which is why he has to get it right. “When Ramanand Sagar sahab made Ramayana, there were no great VFX nor the budget that Adipurush has today. So Om Raut has to get it right. It’s a very big responsibility on his shoulders and he needs to deliver it. He needs to deliver as a film and he needs to deliver with numbers also because Ramayana is a big film, you can’t go wrong, and you should not go wrong,” asserted Taran.

Along with Prabhas as Adipurush, the film features Sunny Singh in the role of Laxman, Saif Ali Khan as Lankeshwar, Devdatta Nage as Hanuman, among others. Directed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series. The film is slated to release in theatres on June 16. However, the film will premiere at the Tribeca International Film Festival in USA on June 13.
