On August 11, we will see the release of the second instalment in the Gadar franchise with Gadar 2 hitting screens. Directed by Anil Sharma and starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the film also features Utkarsh Sharma as Jeete. However, will Gadar 2, that comes 22 years after the release of the first part, entice the masses? Not surprisingly, Film Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh is highly optimistic about the film claiming that it will certainly be big at the box office. Recently in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Taran Adarsh spilled the beans about Sunny Deol’s role in the Gadar 2 while also addressing various rumours.

Speaking of the rumour that Anil Sharma has paid more attention to his son Utkarsh in Gadar 2 than to Sunny’s role, Taran revealed, “There are a lot of rumours doing the rounds that Sunny Dol's role isn’t that important in the film and that Anil Sharma has focussed more on his son Utkarsh. I asked Anil Sharma about this, and I even asked Zee about this. They have said that these rumours are all false, that Sunny is there in the film from start to finish, and Gadar is Sunny Deol.”

Further talking about the film and its box office prospects, Taran maintained a highly optimistic view, “It isn’t a remake of the first film. In fact, it takes the story forward in a very different way. It is rather obvious since the first film released 20 years ago, so the story also has to move ahead. Now this is set in the 70s, so let’s see. I am sure this film will take a fantastic opening.”

While Taran is sure that the film will create an impact at the box office, Gadar 2, which is directed by Anil Sharma, is slated to release next week on August 11, 2023. Interestingly, the film will clash with the Akshay Kumar starrer OMG Oh My God 2 at the box office.
