EXCLUSIVE: Sonam Khan recalls being friends with Vishwatma co-star Divya Bharti; says, “There was no ego between us” : Bollywood News

Veteran actor Sonam Khan, renowned for her role in the iconic film Tridev, recently shared heartfelt memories of her dear friend and co-star, the late Divya Bharti. The two actresses formed a strong bond while working together on the 1992 hit Vishwatma. In a candid interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sonam Khan reflected on her cherished friendship with Divya.

Khan asserted, “Divya was going to be introduced in Vishwatma with me. She was a beautiful person. It was my last film. We used to joke and laugh a lot. She would have been a very, very huge star. We bonded very well, we were of the same age. There was no ego in our relationship. With me and her, that was never the case.”

When asked how their friendship goes against the gender stereotype that two actresses can never be friends, Sonam said, “That depends. I will not totally agree with you, but that depends. But Divya was something else.”

Directed by Rajiv Rai–former husband of Sonam Khan–Vishwatma also starred of Sunny Deol, Naseeruddin Shah and Chunky Pandey. It was the last film that Sonam said she worked on–before she left acting– and remembered feeling low on the final day of the shoot.

“I was actually sad that I was leaving everything and going. It pulled my heart. For the first time, I felt I didn't think I had done the correct thing. But by then when the film was getting over, I was already married. Those days if you gave up your career, and had a kid, you couldn’t come back. I just got married and had a kid within two years of marriage. I gave up working. Work never gave up on me. People who easily get work must always value it. You shouldn’t take things for granted,” she added.
