Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor recently shared his thoughts on Jab We Met in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama. The beloved romantic drama continues to hold a special place in audience’s hearts. Reflecting on the film’s legacy, Shahid acknowledged its lasting impact, saying, "The film definitely stood tall regardless of the number of years it was made."

Calling it one of the finest works of director Imtiaz Ali, he added, "It is a beautiful film, I think it is Imtiaz Ali's best film." Shahid praised the filmmaker’s craft, noting, "He is a fantastic filmmaker, and it speaks a lot about a filmmaker when a film remains relevant and loved for so long." When asked about Imtiaz Ali’s presence during the making of the film, Shahid spoke about the director’s charm, saying, "Imtiaz himself could be a hero, he was very handsome at that time."

Despite Jab We Met becoming an iconic film, Shahid admitted he hasn’t revisited it in some time. "I have not watched Jab We Met for a while, but there are people who watch it," he said, acknowledging its devoted fanbase. On the subject of romance and modern relationships, Shahid shared a humorous take on expectations today. Reacting to the perception of his character Aditya Kashyap as an ideal lover, he quipped, "Aise ladke sab marr chuke hain, nahin bache hain" (All such guys are dead, none are left anymore).

He also playfully advised people not to set unrealistic standards based on movie romances, saying, "Don't make it so difficult for the boys, yaar." Encouraging a more balanced perspective, he added, "Lower your standards."
