Shaad Randhawa has been a part of some of the most memorable films, including Awarapan (2007), Aashiqui 2 (2013), and Ek Villain (2014), among others. Last year, he appeared in two sleeper successes – Saiyaara and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. This is when netizens finally realized that he had been a lucky charm, and in no time, he became an online sensation. 2025 ended on a positive note for him as he bagged Yeh Prem Mol Liya, directed by none other than Sooraj Barjatya and co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actor confirmed that his endeavour remains the same – he isn’t chasing lead roles, but versatile parts that push him beyond what he has done before.

Shaad Randhawa said, “I have always believed that how I see myself is important, but how the makers and creators see me is far more important. Every actor wants a meatier part. As an actor, I can just put myself out there and let the makers envision where they see me. No matter where I see myself or how I want to see myself, what matters at the end of the day is how they see me. So, I really hope they see me as a versatile actor and give me substantial parts.”
It is often said in the industry that when filmmakers repeatedly cast an actor, it’s a sign he’s a pleasure to work with. Mohit Suri has collaborated with Shaad Randhawa seven times, while Milap Zaveri has teamed up with him on five films. Recently, Mohit even revealed that he plays cricket with Shaad regularly, a clear sign that their bond extends beyond work.
When asked about the ease of working with him, Shaad Randhawa remarked, “That’s how it should be, na? We are all here to work because we love to work. When you love to do something, it should be done with ease. Moreover, filmmaking is a process. Everybody has to push themselves to the edge so that the film can come together. Aise hi itna stress mein log chal rahe hai. So, as an actor, it’s your responsibility to make life easier for your director by working hard and being sincere at your job. That’s the right thing to do. Also, it's common sense. Moreover, I’ve also been lucky to have worked with such experienced people in my life.”

While Shaad Randhawa’s track record has been praiseworthy, his last film, Mastiii 4, didn’t perform as expected. His character, Virat, had an ‘echo effect’ gag, but it was lifted from Anupam Kher’s character in Main Tera Hero (2014). Even the ‘Randwa hoon’ dialogue from Main Tera Hero was incorporated, which left fans dejected.
Shaad Randhawa admitted, “Yes, we did get that reaction. I discussed it with Milap as well. It was a call he took as a writer-director. He felt that it had been a while since Main Tera Hero had been released. So, people might not remember it. That’s how we went ahead with it.”
He continued, “To be honest, I knew about it. I see all the films! However, I didn’t expect that others would remember it. Also, the writer of that film was also Milap. So, we can say that he recycled one of his own punches!”
