Scam 1992 writer Karan Vyas has worked in both regional as well as Hindi cinema. He had earlier worked with actor Pratik Gandhi in 2015 Gujarati film Wrong Side Raju post which they collaborated again for 2020 drama series Scam 1992 which received rave reviews. The duo will be working together again in Scam 2 as well as a film based on Mahatma Gandhi which will be directed by Hansal Mehta.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Karan Vyas shared his experience on working with Pratik Gandhi. He said, “Amazing, mind blowing! I know Pratik since Wrong Side Raju like since 2015 when we auditioned him. I was also the associate director on that particular project and second unit director on that project. Since then I knew Pratik. After that I have done one more Gujarati film with him. So by the time I was approached with Scam 1992 I already knew. So the fun part is that Pratik was already casted as Harshad Mehta even before I joined as a as a dialogue writer. So he was the first one to actually become a part of Scam 1992 before me.”

He further added, “When I got to know that he is playing character, it really really helped me. Because while I was writing dialogues, I could visualize him, I could understand OK how exactly it might be going to play out on screen because I have observed his work a lot on set and offset. I have seen him doing a lot of theater, so it is always fantastic working with Pratik.”

Talking about their next project, Karan said, “I'm also writing a show based on Mahatma Gandhi, again directed by Hansal Mehta Sir. And Pratik is going to play Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. So even by writing dialogues for him at this particular moment, I'm enjoying the process. And sometimes I call him and whatever certain thoughts I have, I share with him. Another thing is Pratik is playing Mahatma Gandhi in play Mohan no masala for years now. So, he understands MK Gandhi much much better than me. So yeah, that's how it is where I just love working with Pratik Gandhi.”

Pratik Gandhi recently played cameo in Hansal Mehta’s Netflix series Scoop for a fleeting shot. He is currently gearing up for Scam 2.
