EXCLUSIVE: Satyajeet Dubey reveals the most important message he learnt from his film Aye Zindagi

Satyajeet Dubey talks about his experience of playing a cirrhosis patient in this exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama.

In a world that is filled with negativity, especially after the pandemic, a story that is said with a lot of hope – that’s what Aye Zindagi is all about. Satyajeet Dubey plays the role of a common man leading a normal life which gets disrupted when he is diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. Speaking about his first thought when he got to play Vinay Chawla in the film, Dubey revealed to Bollywood Hungama that what he felt was actually a responsibility to play this role right.

In this exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Satyajeet Dubey said, “I felt a sense of responsibility when I got this role. I’ve been an extremely hungry actor for great characters and stories and this script had everything thing in it including a very strong message which is the need of the hour. That’s organ donation.”

Speaking further about the kind of research he had to do to play the character, Dubey shared, “A lot of emotional and physical work went into creating this character. I read a lot about how the body changes, and what’s the effect on the patient psychologically, physically, and emotionally. My director is a doctor too, which helped me to a great extent.”

For the unversed, the actor played the role of South-Bollywood actress-filmmaker Revathi’s son in this emotional film. It was truly a big moment for Satyajeet. Describing it, he continued, “It was an absolute delight to work with Revathy Ma’am. Her greatness lies in her simplicity, grace, and humility. We have some really beautiful and emotional scenes together in the film and my job became so easy because it was ‘The Revathi’ Ma’am in front of me.

Satyajeet also mentioned about his emotional connect with the movie and the one lesson he learnt while essaying this role. “One must not lose hope EVER! There are times when it seems like nothing is going to work out. In Vinay’s case, it’s his life but the hope that something miraculous can happen is what keeps him alive. Hope and belief are the two most important things in life,” elaborated Dubey.

The Aye Zindagi actor has been a part of this industry for quite some time. And he acknowledges that it hasn’t been a bed of roses. Explaining that it has been ‘nothing less than a rollercoaster ride’, he added, “I can’t deny that it’s been difficult but I am constantly evolving as an actor and a human. Every day I feel like I’m just starting out and that’s a really special feeling - to keep that child-like excitement in you alive and kicking. I’m extremely grateful and happy. But, there’s so much that still needs to be done and achieved,” he concluded.
