Sanjay Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor recently reunited after 22 years after Shakti: The Power (2002) for Homi Adajania’s Murder Mubarak, which released on Netflix last week. While Sanjay played the royal Raja ji in the murder mystery, Karisma played a have-been star actress Shehnaz Noorani. The witty and humorous exchange between the two in the film is being widely lauded by the audience, and even the actor had a gala time reuniting with his former co-star.
Talking about his reunion with Karisma, Sanjay Kapoor said, “Working with her is always great. We also did a TV show titled Karishma, which also features Arshad Warsi and Arbaaz Khan, and then we did Shakti: The Power. It was fantastic working with her then and we have been friends since. Even our families are quite close.” While Sanjay is all praise for Karisma, he does have one wish that he regrets couldn't be fulfilled on Murder Mubarak. He shared, “It's always good to work with Karisma as she is too talented. I just wish we had a song at the end of Murder Mubarak where I could have got a chance to dance with her as she is a brilliant dancer. She was and still is one of the best dancers from the '90s Bollywood”.
Sanjay Kapoor is on a professional roll currently. Last year, he appeared in a grey shade role in Shahid Kapoor's Bloody Daddy. This year, he also featured in a key role in Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas alongside Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi. On the other hand, Karisma Kapoor is expected to have returned to films after a decade with this Homi Adajania directorial which also featured Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Pankaj Tripathi, Dimple Kapadia, among others in key roles.
