The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the entertainment industry, including Bollywood. As the world gradually recovers, the focus has shifted to the performances of actors in the post-pandemic era. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, renowned film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared his insights on the post-pandemic performance of actors including Salman Khan.

When mentioned that Ranbir Kapoor has grabbed the second spot followed by Shah Rukh Khan, Adarsh said, “I did not expect because Salman Khan's film (Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan) was also releasing, that too on Eid... and I really thought that Salman would deliver those numbers, at least on the occasion of Eid. Salman's star power is immense; you know... he is such a big star that if there's anyone who can give tough competition to Shah Rukh, it is him. But, wrong choices.”

As Salman secured the fourth position, Taran explained, “I hope Salman realises that somewhere down the line, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has not really worked at the box office when compared to his own previous Eid releases. I would still say Salman zakhmi sher hai. Wait for Tiger 3, the roar of the Tiger will be very evident at that point in time.”

He continued and added, “Today, we are talking about Shah Rukh Khan and Pathaan. In between, I read a lot of statements where people were saying that the numbers of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan are nowhere close to Pathaan. If Pathaan needs to be compared, it has to be compared with Tiger 3. That will be a face-off worth watching. It will be a battle between equals. And then we will have to see who is ahead and who is behind."

For the unversed, post-pandemic, Salman Khan was seen in Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai (2021), but it mostly had a digital release. Meanwhile, he was seen in a supporting role in Antim – The Final Truth (2021). Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023) was his full-fledged theatrical release after Dabangg 3 (2019).
