The Sabarmati Report, starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra, hit theaters on November 15, 2024. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan under Balaji Motion Pictures and Vikir Films, the film has already generated significant buzz. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, producer Amul Mohan discussed the film’s casting process and gave an exciting sneak peek into his upcoming project Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan.

Casting ***The Sabarmati Report*: A Gut Instinct That Paid Off**

Amul Mohan revealed that the lead actors for The Sabarmati Report Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra—were always the first choices. “The lead cast has been more or less the first choice,” he shared. Mohan credited his brother Anshul and Ektaa R Kapoor for spearheading the casting process.

Talking about Vikrant Massey, Mohan said: “As a matter of fact, when we approached Vikrant, it was much before 12th Fail was released. It was just a gut feeling that Anshul and Ektaa had. They said, ‘We are going to approach him,’ and they did. And obviously, he agreed. By the time the film was in conversation, 12th Fail came and went on to become a cult film within a year. It’s rare to see that kind of impact in such a short time.”

Teasing ***Baby John*: A Game-Changer in the Making**

Amul Mohan also shared insights into his next project, Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan, directed by Kalees, and produced in collaboration with Atlee and Murad Khetani. He expressed his excitement about working on this film as an associate producer.

"Speaking about the personal connection, Mohan revealed: “Varun and I go back a long way. Our fathers were close friends, and we’ve always talked about collaborating. With Baby John, we got an opportunity to do something massive. I feel people are not even ready for what we are coming out with.”

Highlighting the film’s potential, he added: “With the powerhouse that is Atlee and Kalees, and with Varun leading the charge, this is going to be a completely different ball game. A lot will be revealed soon, and I believe it will have the impact it deserves. People are not even ready for what we are coming out with.”

For the unversed, Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan, is set to release in cinemas on December 25. Besides Varun Dhawan, it also stars Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi.
