Rakul Preet Singh revealed that she belonged to a middle class family and to watch films was like a bribe, which she would only get to do when she scored well.

Amidst multiple releases, Rakul Preet Singh recently featured in an interesting genre of murder thriller Cuttputlli which is based on serial killing. The film, however, despite the theatrical restrictions being completely eliminated, opted for an OTT release. While speaking about the changing tastes of Indian audiences, the role pandemic played in altering these tastes, Rakul Preet Singh also mentioned to Bollywood Hungama, about what a middle class audience expects from a film, adding that she herself belongs to a very middle-class family.

Speaking about how her father would react to her watching films, Rakul Preet Singh revealed that she would often been given the money to watch a film when she would score well or for reasons like that. Talking about it to exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, Rakul said, “While growing up, it wasn't that I could watch every film, my dad would say, Okay, you score well. So you watch that film, you do this. So it was that? So it was tough.”

On the other hand, the actress also spoke about how a middle class family watches a film for two major reasons, one is to spend time with the family and the second is when they find it worth their money. She shared, “I feel people want to watch cinema, but there are too many factors that don't let them do that. They choose entertainment, so that they can enjoy with their family. To ensure that at least that ticket is worth it, the popcorn is worth it. I'm talking here from the people's point of view, because I also come from a middle class family.”

Talking about Rakul Preet Singh, the actress was seen in the role of a teacher in Cuttputlli. As for her other films, the actress has some interesting films in her kitty which includes the big budget Indian 2 featuring Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal, Thank You with Sidharth Malhotra and Ajay Devgn, as well as Doctor G with Ayushmann Khurrana.
