Madhu Chopra, the mother of Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, has revealed details about how she evaluated Nick Jonas as a potential life partner for her daughter. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Madhu Chopra disclosed that she engaged in a thorough conversation with Nick before making up her mind about him.
When questioned about any concerns she might have had regarding Priyanka not marrying an Indian, Madhu Chopra candidly shared her perspective. She mentioned that since Priyanka had already pursued her studies outside India, she perceived no distinctions between people based on their skin colour. According to her, such notions were normalized in foreign countries, and the Chopra family, having spent time with Priyanka in America, had also embraced this perspective.
Madhu Chopra emphasized, “These things are very normal in our family at least. So I was not worried about white or black, I never had a colour issue.” She clarified that her primary apprehension about Priyanka's wedding was the physical distance it would create between them. Expressing her thoughts, Madhu Chopra said, “I just kept feeling that she was going very far away from me. I had a bit of apprehension that she’ll be so far away but then I also felt that it is okay, we can always reach each other in fifteen hours.”
She also revealed that upon meeting Nick Jonas, she engaged in a private conversation with him to discern if he was the ideal partner for her daughter. Following this one-on-one discussion, Madhu Chopra swiftly determined that the singer was a perfect match for the actress. She said, “I had an extensive conversation with Nick privately to gauge his character. Afterward, I realized he was precisely the person I envisioned for Priyanka. He embodied what I had hoped for my daughter.”
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra was last seen in the Russo Brothers' Citadel. It premiered on Prime Video on April 28, 2023 and is also renewed for part 2. The actress was seen alongside Richard Madden in the series. Citadel is a web series created by The Russo Brothers. It features Priyanka as Nadia Sinh and Richard Madden as Mason Kane. Apart from Citadel, PeeCee was also seen in Love Again. Priyanka Chopra had also announced her next film titled Heads Of State, co-starring John Cena and Idris Elba.
