Zindagi is set to launch its much-awaited show Abdullahpur Ka Devdas on February 26, 2024. Directed by Anjum Shahzad and written by Shahid Dogar, this 13-episode show promises a captivating blend of love, friendship, and poetic drama. This heartfelt story is a power package of love, friendship, betrayal, and sacrifice. Moreover, the ensemble cast, featuring Savera Nadeem, Anoushay Abbasi, and Nauman Ijaz, adds depth to the narrative. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the show’s leading lady Sarah Khan talked about her role, shared her experience of working with the cast of the series and her love for Indian movies, especially a wish to work with Salman Khan.

When asked about idolizing any prominent person before joining the TV industry, Sarah Khan mentioned she wished to work with Salman Khan. Speaking in Urdu, the actress said, “Aisa toh kabhi socha nahi tha because acting karni nahi thi. Lekin ek baat zaroor sochi thi ki jab yeh socha than a ki acting karni hai toh phir yeh socha tha ki ek daffa Salman Khan ke saath film zaroor karni hai [I never thought like this because I never wanted to act. But one thing I definitely thought was that whenever I start acting then I wish to do a film with Salman Khan].”

Speaking about watching Indian content, she added, “I don’t get to watch Indian shows or anything more as much as my daughter is very young. But, my husband (singe Falak Shabbir), watches everything. He follows a lot of content on Netflix and he is a big fan. Of course, who isn’t a fan of Indian movies? We’ve grown up watching Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan or Salman Khan.”

Talking about her upcoming series Abdullahpur Ka Devdas, she said, “There’s a kind of love that’s currently happening like today’s love through social media like Instagram, or Snapchat. This is a very old-school kind of love. This happens via love letters, through eyes. This is a beautiful thing about this show.”

Abdullapur Ka Devdas is a classic story of love and how a person truly in love can cross all boundaries, even if that means sacrificing their love. The show also explores the delicate balance between love and friendship, posing the poignant question, "Mehboob ya Mohabbat?" While love holds all the power in our lives, sacrifices, and compromises become predominant in the show. As we see Fakhar (Bilal Abbas) worrying about his lover's happiness before his own, he goes to the end to sacrifice it all together.
