Four More Shots Please actress Maanvi Gagroo has revealed the about the unfair treatment she has faced for not being the top actor in the industry. A well-known face in the digital space, Gagroo still faces the issues and also talked about the unstructured industry that has no rules like that of a corporate.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, while talking about the film industry, Maanvi said, “We all are living our lives outside the industry. We interact with people all the time and all of us have certain emotional quotient, social quotient, so we know when the energy is changed, what people mean when they are saying something. Somehow I feel, things like these are comparatively more in the industry because our industry, let’s face it, is not the most structured actually. I mean there are no rules like in the corporate like if you have achieved a certain target, then you’ll get the promotion. If you have given certain number of hours, you’ll get bonus. There are no such rules. There’s no structure, per say.”

She continued, “When I was new, people used to advise me ‘You’ve got an ad-face, you should try dong more ads’, while some said ‘Don’t do a lot of ads, they overexpose you, then nobody would want to cast you in their film.’ Unfortunately, in our country, not just industry, there’s no dignity of labour. So until or unless you are a top star, you won’t be respected on certain sets.”

She also shared her experience of working on film PK and said that they get to eat food cooked at Anushka Sharma’s home. She further talked about web platforms and says that they’re very collaborative adding that women have always been looked at as sexual beings.

On the work front, Maanvi is known for her work in web series like TVF Pitchers, TVF Tripling, Made in Heaven and Four More Shots Please! In 2019, she portrayed the character of Apsara, a plus size woman in a comedy movie Ujda Chaman opposite Sunny Singh. She has also worked with Ayushmann Khurrana in 2020 film Shubh Mangal ZyadaSaavdhan.
