Karan Johar is back with a new season of Koffee With Karan. The seventh season kicked off with his Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani co-stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Ahead of the show, the filmmaker spoke to Bollywood Hungama about the show, what to expect from the new season since it is now on a digital platform, and more. This new season will see many new pairings, and exciting guests from not just Bollywood but down South as well. But, viewers have always wondered whether the three Khans will grace the show.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, when he was asked whether Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan would grace his show, Karan Johar did confirm that Aamir will be gracing the show. Karan said, “Well, Aamir, yes. Shah Rukh, I think should really only explode at the time of Pathaan. So I know he is not doing much, not facing any media right now and that’s the best decision for him because when Pathaan does come, it’s going to be a tsunami at the box office. Shah Rukh Khan has kept people waiting and desired and the more they wait, the more they will really give back in terms of love, to I believe the biggest star of our country.”
Aamir Khan previously appeared thrice on Koffee With Karan. Once with his ex-wife Kiran Rao, another time he was a solo guest, and the third time he came with his Dangal co-stars, Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan was a debut guest on Koffee With Karan back in 2004 with Kajol, him appearing with his wife Gauri Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and his ex-wife Sussanne Khan; once with Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Farhan Akhtar, Farah Khan, Kajol, and Jaya Bachchan; another time with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai co-stars Kajol, and Rani Mukerji followed by Farah Khan, and Deepika Padukone; once as a solo guest and last time with Dear Zindagi co-star Alia Bhatt.
The new season of Koffee with Karan will see Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Akshay Kumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, Tiger Shroff, Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Ananya Panday, Vijay Deverakonda, Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Gauri Khan, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Sidharth Malhotra, and Vicky Kaushal as guests.
Aamir Khan is currently gearing up for Laal Singh Chaddha's release in August 2022. This marks his first film in five years. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is set to return to the big screen with Pathaan in January 2023. It will also mark five years since his last release Zero in 2018.
