Fresh after doing projects like Rajshri Productions’ movie Dono and the latest season of ImMature, Kanikka Kapur flew to the picturesque country Sri Lanka earlier this month. The pictures and videos shared by her from the trip ooze cosy-ness and peace.
Sharing her experience of the trip, Kanikka told Bollywood Hungama exclusively, “During my visit to Sri Lanka, I had the pleasure of exploring the enchanting town of Galle, renowned for its captivating lighthouse. The breathtaking views from the lighthouse made the climb truly adventurous, and it provided me with the opportunity to learn more about the intricacies of the reflector used to project the guiding light.”
Apart from visiting the serene beaches of Galle, Kanikka was also happy exploring the cafes of the city. “The charming cafes we visited showcased a distinct Portuguese influence, reminiscent of the ambiance found in Pondicherry,” she said.
Her trip also coincided with the marriage of one of her friends. “One memorable highlight was attending a friend’s wedding in Kalutara, adding a joyous and cultural touch to the journey. The trip concluded in the vibrant city of Colombo, where we delved into a plethora of shopping experiences and indulged in delectable seafood delicacies.”

Sharing more details about her trip, Kanikka added, “Adding a touch of fun to the itinerary, I tried the exhilarating long swing on the beach, revelling in the carefree moments by the shore. A visit to a turtle farm added an educational dimension to the trip, allowing me to discover various species of turtles and their unique characteristics—an experience that proved to be both fascinating and enriching.”
During an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama at the end of last year, Kanikka shared her experience of working with Sooraj Barjatya on the sets of Dono. She said, “Sooraj sir was my favourite person in Dono. I really look up to him and respect him of course as a director and also the person that he is. He has a different aura only. You can’t really express it in words; you have to meet him. And he is one of the most humble people I have come across. He treats everyone with equality and respect. If there is one thing that I have learnt from him, it will be that. Some day if I become even half of who he is, I will also be as humble as him.”
