EXCLUSIVE: Harleen Sethi REACTS to Karan Johar, Hansal Mehta praising Kohrra, speaks on her “scary-yet-beautiful” journey, transformation from Sameera to Nimrat: “I’ve gained more than I’ve lost”

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Harleen Sethi gives an insight into her journey starting from Yarri Dostii Shaadi to Kohrra.

The Savinderpal Vicky, Barun Sobti and Harleen Sethi starrer web show Kohrra, which was released recently, managed to impress the audience. The Netflix original grabbed the attention of many and a section of netizens even called it “one of the best web shows produced in India in 2023.” Speaking of the same, Harleen Sethi, in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, opened up about its success, her character Nimrat, leaving the tag of her popular character Sameera from Broken But Beautiful, and reacted to Karan Johar and Hansal Mehta praising the show.

When asked to share her thoughts on the love Kohrra received from the audience, Sethi asserted, “The entire team of Kohrra is extremely overwhelmed by the response and the love that we've been getting from each and everyone, especially from the names you mentioned, and all these other big filmmakers. It's very sweet of them to post about these things, appreciating their contemporaries' work. Even Barun was saying, 'Aisa lag raha hai ki bomb drop ho gaya hai.”

Harleen further added, “It's been an insane time. Even I personally had a breakdown two days back, and it's such a good feeling when your hard work is validated. We're all speechless. We've all worked with sincerity and honesty, and we've tried to keep it very real and authentic, and I think that is what is translating. And I genuinely am very proud to be a part of the show. And, finally, I'm now being called Nimrat, because woh Sameera ka tag bhot saal tak chala. So I'm very happy that now I'll be known as Nimrat, hopefully till the next project comes out.”

Speaking of her acting journey starting from Yarri Dostii Shaadi to Kohrra, she called it a beautiful roller coaster ride,” which she really enjoyed. She said, “It was scary with all the drops, but also made me really enjoy the highs. When you're known by your character names, whether it's Sameera, whether it's Nimrat now. I've gained so much more than I've lost.”
