One of India’s biggest superstars, Shah Rukh Khan, turns 58 today. The actor has a huge fan following not just among the aam junta of the world but also among the industry members. Not many are aware that Fatima Sana Shaikh is also a huge admirer of the Jawan actor. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror in October 2020, when asked whom she’s dying to work with, she replied, “Mera pyaar, Shah Rukh Khan. I’m a sleazy SRK fan who stalks him on social media, writes, ‘I love you’ on his posts and expects a reaction, and watches all his interviews, even those from his kids’ school graduation.”
Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to Fatima Sana Shaikh before her session at Bollywood Hungama’s two-day OTT India Fest in October 2023. When asked about her ‘sleazy SRK fan’ comment, she laughed and said, “I am not sleazy. But I guess I am like every Shah Rukh Khan fan. He’s loved because of the films that he does and how he is off screen. Everybody who is a Shah Rukh fan think of him as your person. You feel protected. He’s someone who signifies hope, romanticism and that’s the kind of person you want as your partner. You feel like ‘Koi Shah Rukh Khan jaisa chahiye’ – reliable, consistent, stable. And it’s also because of his body of work and how he speaks.”
Fatima Sana Shaikh continued, “Whenever you meet him, he makes you feel like you’re the only person in the room. What a quality to have! I wonder how he does it. He meets hundreds and thousands of people. And he makes all of them feel special. It’s rare!”
Fatima Sana Shaikh was recently seen in the road trip film, Dhak Dhak. Her next release is Sam Bahadur, co-starring Vicky Kaushal and Sanya Malhotra. It releases in cinemas on December 1, 2023.
