The trailer of the much anticipated Shakun Batra film Gehraiyaan was recently dropped through a virtual press conference. The film's trailer has been receiving an overwhelming response among the audience for its unique way of storytelling and portrayal of characters.

Talking about the film, the star cast of the film Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Dhairya Karwa along with director Shakun Batra came together for an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama. The cast spoke in detail about the film and its characters. Deepika also talked about the intimacy in Gehraiyaan and said that we haven't seen it in Indian films so far.

During the interview, Deepika Padukone was asked about the importance of the legacy factor while making work choices at this point in her career. Replying to this, Deepika said, "It's not very often that I get asked this question but that's a great insight if I may say. Over the years, with the kind of films that I have done, with the experiences that I've had professionally and personally, I think you reach a stage in your life where you don't really live for that Friday. You live for what is that legacy that you carry behind whether it's your choice of films, whether it's your choice of characters, whether it's the work you do outside of what my primary profession is which is of being an actor. I'm in that phase of my life and I have been in it for the last couple of years where really I think you reach a stage in your life where you want to be able to not just push the envelope but also do things differently from the way they have been done historically. You have to question why things have been done in a certain way and then do it your way and what is it that I'm going to leave behind. Yes, I'm on that journey and Gehraiyaan is a part of that journey".

She added, "How do we push the envelope? With the kind of stories we tell, the kind of characters we're able to portray on-screen, The intimacy that you're seeing in the film and the little bit you've seen in the trailer, in Indian cinema, I don't think you've ever seen it the way we've done in the film. I don't think you've seen the characters as you'll see it in this film. The journey of mine or the purpose that I wake up with every morning really also translates to why I ended up doing this movie."
