Social media is one of the most happening places these days, but it also becomes one of the only source to spread negativity. While there are a lot of people who happen to be Salman Khan’s fans, some just take the label a little too seriously and are then tagged as trolls. In recent times, Twitter has seen a major clash between singer/composer Amaal Malik and Salman Khan’s fans. a few offending sentences were exchanged, however, Amaal assured that he had utmost respect for Salman Khan and it was his fans’ crazy fanaticism that were an issue for him.
Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, Amaal’s father Daboo Malik, who happens to be a coveted composer, addressed the issue. He said, “The thing is that the relationship of me with Salman Bhai and Sohail Bhai cannot be changed. It’s very strong and I’m very close to them. Nothing, not even the brickbats that happened with the younger generation or anything can change that equation, ever. Because his love and his care for me and my family is always going to be there. He is that kind of a person.”
Speaking further, he continued, “Of course, the way things happened and how things go wrong and so many incidences happen. As a father, I have to handle it and of course, his father has handled so many things for him; the story goes on with this generation and the next. So, that is the care which I take as my responsibility. Sometimes, what happens is that I feel that trying to contain it in a particular way is not the thing. Because I don’t have to make anybody understand anything, everybody knows where I come from. My children are lucky in a way that the foot and the toe concept in the entire industry, from anywhere, I may not have been such a huge success as a music director or have had a status that a lot of people have done. But one thing I have earned is a great relationship with everybody. The kind of love that I receive from each and every person be it Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Bhushan Kumar Ji, Amitabh Bachchan Ji, the kind of relations that I have made and the love I have received is my real equity. That is my real strength and that is where I think when they say ‘Daboo ke bachche hai’ the story changes for my kids.”
“That’s a huge thing for me, and to maintain that, the next generation as in Amaal and Armaan will have to keep themselves in check. They have to do the right things because the only thing that works here is work. And till the time you have work and your reputation, things are going to be fine. After these things, what comes next in the list are the relations that you make. Because success and failure are a part of life, but you will be always valued if you are a person who has been straight-up hardworking and dedicated to your graph. You can always make a turnaround and a comeback. But, one shouldn’t create too much nuisance, that is the advice that I have given my children. It is very important and let your work speak for yourself. As long as your work is going right and you are respectful, what is the point in trying to get into this fracas of social media? So many people there are faceless. Nobody knows whose talking for what and for whom, so I think it’s crazy to get into that zone and try to prove a point, it’s stupidity. Everything goes misunderstood, it’s like when you speak to somebody, your meaning, your tone and your inflections of how you’re speaking is different. But if you send the same sentence in a simple message, the same line that is meant to be simple can be construed in a different way, so that’s how the written word is happening on social media.”
Concluding his opinion about the situation, he said, “I am pretty cool about it because nothing in this entire world can change my relationship with anybody. I have 35-40 years of strong bonding with everybody and I have always done what’s right. I have never done anything that can be stated as wrong, so I am very cool in every aspect of life. Be it my work, my relationship with my coworkers, I have always done things the right way and that is how I would like Amaal and Armaan to carry forward.”
